The Computer Science and Technology major stands as a prominent comprehensive reform pilot in Liaoning Province, recognized as a provincial first-class major, and has been honored with the title of Excellent Undergraduate Teaching Team by Liaoning Province's Ordinary Colleges and Universities. Back in 2014, this major secured the fifth spot in the provincial comprehensive evaluation of undergraduate institutions.
Over the years, our major has fostered 17 batches of graduates, totaling 3572 alumni. Our esteemed faculty consists of 24 full-time teachers, boasting 4 senior professors, 10 associate professors, and 6 mentors guiding graduate students. We wholeheartedly adopt the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach, pioneering an innovative educational framework dubbed the "Learning-Innovating-Competing-Researching-Evaluating" model.
The department's academic excellence is evidenced by its 3 provincial first-class courses, 17 practical textbooks, over 10 on-campus and off-campus internship and training centers, as well as 3 provincial and municipal scientific research platforms. Our state-of-the-art experimental equipment is valued at over 9.1 million yuan. In collaboration with the State Grid Liaoning Electric Power Research Institute and other partners, we've established the HUAWEI ICT Modern Industrial College. This initiative aims to enhance the seamless integration of academic and industrial education, creating an undergraduate program that blends energy, electricity, and computers. This program emphasizes "integrating academic learning with practical roles and aligning coursework with job responsibilities." As a result, our graduates enjoy high-quality employment opportunities in the energy, electricity, and IT sectors, maintaining an impressive annual employment rate exceeding 95%. This achievement underscores the strong connection between our talent development efforts and the real-world needs of enterprises.
