Computer Science and Technology Major Participate in ASIIN Accreditation

On the afternoon of April 11, 2024, the Office of Academic Affairs successfully held an ASIIN accreditation selection and review meeting. This meeting invited a number of experts from both inside and outside the university, who jointly listened to the presentations of the five majors participating in the review. The Computer Science and Technology major, with its outstanding performance, won the recognition of the experts and was recommended as the only pilot major this year to participate in the ASIIN accreditation work.

During the review meeting, the heads of each major gave excellent defenses, introducing in detail from three aspects: the foundation of accreditation work, the preparation status, and the next steps. Dean Wang Hongjiang, as the head of the Computer Science and Technology major, elaborated on the significant advantages of the major in terms of characteristics, teaching staff construction, the foundation of engineering education accreditation, continuous improvement, as well as the preparation work for ASIIN accreditation and experience in international education during the defense. Vice Dean of Teaching Ren Na and the head of the Computer Science Department Shi Jiangping also participated in the defense meeting.

After the expert judges scored, the Computer Science and Technology major ranked first and was recommended as the ASIIN accreditation pilot major this year.

ASIIN is the most authoritative higher education degree accreditation institution in the field of natural engineering in Germany. It is an authoritative international degree accreditation institution, a preparatory member of the Washington Accord of the international engineering education degree accreditation system, and the founder and member of the European Engineering Education Project degree accreditation system. Passing the ASIIN accreditation will not only help enhance the international influence of the Computer Science and Technology major in our university but also fully affirm the quality of education and teaching in our university. Students can also obtain broader career development opportunities.
